Jacob Zhimomi, minister for PHED paid a courtesy visit at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) on August 14, wherein he was accorded a grand reception by Nakro principal KPA, teaching and non teaching staff, GBs Atoizu, Land Donor’s Union KPA, Khelhoshe Polytechnic Teachers Association (KPTA). A press release from KPTA president Ruokuobeilie Mere and KPYA general secretary, Yibenthung Odyuo stated that, Jacob also held a formal meeting at residence of principal KPA.

During the meeting, Jacob interacted with principal, lecturers, faculty members, Land Donors Union, GBs, Khelhoshe Polytechnic Teachers Association (KPTA) and discussed for smooth development and upgradation of degree engineering college and grievances of the institution. Minister also stressed that upgradation of degree engineering college was the outmost priority of the institution and assured that he will also give his best efforts for timely upgradation.
He also urged the faculty members to be sincere and dedicated to serve in the interest of the students’ community.
He also assured that he will appraise government to fulfill the demands and grievances faced by the institution.
The institution also served a representation through Khelhoshe Polytechnic Teachers Association Atoizu (KPTAZ) during minister’s visit which included establishing of Police Outpost of at least one platoon full strength armed personnel to be stationed permanently at KPA for security measures.
It also highlighted for water supply pipeline connectivity at the institution and all the government quarters to solve  current water crisis, demands to establish banking facilities in the campus and community health centre to be implemented at the earliest for the region.
The association also requested the competent authority to improve the roads early and also department of Tourism to hand over guest house constructed by department of Tourism. The guest house is currently being used by land owners as there is no guest house in the campus for accommodation to receive any guest within and outside Nagaland especially resource persons from AICTE, Delhi etc.
The association also disclosed that there was a problem of land acquisition which hampers development at KPA for which the institution has also appraised the government for outright purchase on many occasions and the same have been agreed by the land donors for smooth functioning and upgradation of the institution. Nakro principal KPA on behalf of the institution extended sincere appreciation to the minister for his visit.
