A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Manipurgovernment at the secretariat on Friday.

The MoA was inked for procuring essential equipment for Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS)’s new Accident and Trauma Centre (ATC).

Appreciating their valuable initiative, Manipur CM N Biren Singh said that AAI has already donated one ambulance to the state health department.

“AAI has further agreed to sanction another ambulance for emergency purposes,” Singh added.

He appealed the authority of JNIMS to procure quality equipment.

AAI’s regional executive director Sanjiv Jindal said, “Initially only about 10 per cent of the project cost would be released and 80 per cent will be released once the project is ready to start.”

“The remaining 10 per cent would be released after the completion of the work,” Jindal added.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced that the Manipur government will host the first-ever corporate conclave in Imphal on September 6 next.

He said that over 70 companies and firms would be participating in the event.

He further added that the government is expecting large scale CSR investment in Manipur.

“The government is also hopeful of positive commitment from several corporate firms in the conclave,” the CM added.

Regarding the AAI’s CSR initiative for procurement of equipment for the ATC of JNIMS, the CM said that the total amount Rs 4.95 crores will be funded by the AAI under the CSR project.
