Assam’s Lucky Das bags bronze at Pencak Silat Championship in Punjab
Bringing laurels to the state, Assam’s Lucky Das bagged a bronze medal at the Junior Pencak SilatChampionship that concluded recently in Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab.
Lucky is a student of Chungajan High School in Golaghat district of Assam.
She is being trained by coach Gagan Chandra Boro.
The team won eleven medals including seven gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
Nagaland bagged eight medals including five gold and three bronze medals.
A number of players from various states and union territories participated at the Junior Pencak Silat Championship 2019.
Pencak Silat is a form of martial art which involves striking, grappling and throwing of the participants in addition to weaponry and is said to have originated in Indonesia.
