Union health and family welfare minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan on Saturday said the Northeast has witnessed phenomenal developmental changes under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said this while addressing the 48th foundation day celebration and graduation ceremony of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Manipur capital Imphal. Dr Harsh Vardhan also assured that the central government would take forward all the proposals made by chief minister, N Biren and member of Parliament, Dr R K Ranjan to enhance healthcare facilities in the State with utmost sincerity and commitment. He also said the central government has a firm determination and dream to bring RIMS to greater heights. Harsh Vardhan said that RIMS has been ranked at 28th position in Medical category in All India Rankings 2019. He said this was possible due to dedicated hard work of the teachers, students, doctors and medical, para-medical and non-medical staff of the institute. Meanwhile, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh sought Harsh Vardhan’s intervention in the early commencement of Air Ambulance Service with RIMS as one of the centres.
