Call To Rename Shillong By-Pass As “FS Cajee Mawali By-Pass”
2019-Social Service Organization (M:19-SSO) led by Teibor Pathaw MDC of 20- Mawlai Constituency met Comingone Ymbon Minister in-charge General Administrative Department (GAD) request for naming the Shillong-Mawlai by- pass as “FS Cajee Mawali by-pass”.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Pathaw said, “We have requested the minister to rename the “Shillong Mawlai by-pass” which was recently inaugurated by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.”
He said that the aforesaid road has come out on account of the innovative idea and spectacular convincing power of (late) FS Cajee ex-MLA/MDC of Mawlai Constituency whose motivation was not only to decongest the traffic snarled along the National Highway-40 between the stretch from Mawlai up to Lumdiengjri but also to open more opportunity to land owners along the new stretch of the by-pass.
“For this particular project, late Cajee has personally involved in convincing the landowners who initially disagree to willingly part their land free of cost in order to meet the desirable space,” he said.
He said the M:19- SSO feel that as an honour and gratitude to the late leader of Mawlai whose contribution and self sacrifice in his services to the Constituency in particular and as a tall legislator in general, it will be appropriate to at least tag his name to the By pass, so that it shall be known as “FS Cajee Mawlai By pass”.
“The people’s leader name and fame must be remembered not only in our generation or thoughts but shall live and be honour for all times to come,” he said.
“We humbly request the Minister to Kindiy take up this matter for consideration and necessaryy action,” he said.
He said that the M:19- SSO and the people of Mawlai shall welcome and praise this noble deed of the Minister and will remain ever gratetul to him if this is achieve.
When asked, he informed that the Minister will take up this matter with various departments of the state and will also discuss this with the Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills district
